To further strengthen the deep integration between intellectual property examination work and technological innovation at the forefront, and to enhance the quality and efficiency of patent examination, a 12-member delegation led by Section Chiefs Guo Yanhua and Hu Junchao from the Materials Department of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) visited Suzhou Labyrinth Biotech Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Labyrinth") on the afternoon of June 3, 2026, for a thematic exchange and research activity.

Accompanied by relevant responsible persons from Labyrinth, the team of examiners toured the company's production line and core laboratories, gaining detailed insights into the company's technological R&D progress and industrial application status in areas such as microfluidics and bio-detection. Company technicians introduced Labyrinth's recent innovations in microfluidic chips, automated detection platforms, and other fields, and presented a number of patented technologies that have been strategically filed.

Subsequently, the two sides engaged in a lively discussion on practical issues related to the drafting quality of patent applications, examination standards, and the scope of claim protection in the microfluidics field. Drawing on specific cases, the examiners offered professional advice on how to better demonstrate the inventiveness and sufficient disclosure of technical solutions, while the company provided feedback on difficulties and challenges encountered during the actual application process.

This research and exchange activity not only deepened the examiners’ understanding of cutting-edge developments in biotechnology but also provided the company with a valuable opportunity to engage directly with examiners and gain insight into examination thinking and policy directions.
